My own site, made as a record of ongoing research rather than a showcase

Abstract

My own site, made as a record of research rather than a showcase. A loading screen built from dimension marks counts the real load, and when the count finishes the site unfolds. In the first view a logotype, set in a geometric typeface of my own drawing, arrives with an animation; at the centre a glass rose drawn from an equation comes into bloom. What accumulates here is not only finished design work but the record of how I make things.

Background

I wanted something closer to a laboratory than a showcase — a site that carries the person behind it. To show that the design here is generated with code, it leans on equations, geometric figures and other forms that come out of numbers.

Method

The name is set in seven glyphs drawn from circles and rectangles only. Loading figures come from real events — the library resolving, the first frame drawn — and every motion derives from the same approach function. The rose at the centre is a surface holding petal ripple as a number; moving that number from bud to bloom is the bloom. Works holds what took form and Log holds the process of the research: the site is split in two that way.

Outcome

Experiments that never reached completion, and would otherwise have stayed buried, can be laid to rest here as something worth reading.
