UI/UX improvements, campaign operations and process efficiency for Yahoo! Otoku Takarabako

Abstract

UI/UX improvements and campaign operations for Yahoo! Otoku Takarabako. Move one button and the number of people who hesitate moves visibly with it. At that scale a small confusion returns as a large amount of hesitation.

Background

Every campaign carried different content and was built the same way every time. Rebuilding each one from scratch consumed most of the available hours, and the screens that actually needed improving never got them.

Method

Screen changes were checked against usage data and revised repeatedly; taste does not decide. In parallel, shared patterns and a working procedure were put in place so campaign surfaces no longer started from zero. Time saved in production goes straight back into improvement.

Outcome

Making design faster turned out to depend as much on fixing how the work is made as on fixing the screens. Turning operations into mechanisms — what I do now — started here.
